ARTIST STATEMENT
Pat Payne
I love steel, its strength, immediacy, even its tendency to fight back before yielding to form. Its structural limits seem boundless, with steel and direct sculpting, the sculptors imprint, and the immediacy of method is not changed in processing. Even my bronzes are created in steel first instead of wax or clay as the strength of the metal and the process of forming it seems to emerge in the final sculpture.
I have had the pleasure of creating one of a kind sculpture for the public and private sectors for over 25 years. The majority of my sculpture is suitable for indoor outdoor placement. Average prices range from $1,500. to $30,000.
